Is there life after death? Does God exist? Is war ever justifiable? Why be good? If you are interested in the big questions in life, then Religious Studies is for you. We examine key issues and theories in ethics and the philosophy of religion. If you have an enquiring mind and an interest in the views of others as well as in developing your own well-informed views on some of the most important matters of life and death, then you are an ideal Religious Studies student. Students come to Religious Studies from all faith backgrounds and none: no religious faith is assumed, and the only prerequisites are an open mind and a willingness to consider profound ideas.
The subject combines very well with History, Sociology, Psychology and the Sciences. Many former students have decided to progress to University to study Religious Studies, Theology, History of Ideas or Philosophy, and from there have gone into teaching, community work, youth work, research, journalism, social work, the probation service, the police, medical ethics, the clergy and a wide range of other careers.
On completion of these qualifications candidates may progress onto a university course
