Course Content

This course is for students who have a passion for acting and would like to develop their skills and enhance their understanding of drama in both historical and contemporary contexts. This is predominantly a practical course but you will be required to complete The thrill of performing arts is undeniable.

At the Tameside Centre for Performing Arts we prepare every student to be the best they can be, in whatever field they want to excel in. By looking at all aspects of theatre, dance and performance, from the theory to the fall of the curtain, we provide an in depth understanding of what makes a performance great. We will help direct and support you, but how you interpret and understand those directions is your decision. Whilst with us you will have access to state of the art facilities and talented and passionate practitioners.

We make performing arts real, an expression of who you are and what you want to achieve. We want to set you on the path to the performance of your life. Units studied include Film and TV acting, Classical Theatre, Audition techniques and Principles of Acting. You will also participate in the rehearsal and production planning of a major performance in front of a public audience.

Progression

On completion of this course you will be ready to work in the industry or further your studies at University or drama school.
